Householders

Sharing your home can offer you an enhanced sense of safety, companionship and valuable assistance in managing day to day tasks

Householders are often older people, who have a spare room in their home and would benefit from companionship and low level practical support with day to day tasks. Tasks vary depending on Householders needs however often include help with cooking, cleaning, maintaining the garden, shopping, managing appointments and walking your pet.

Homeshare North East can help you in finding a Homesharer that is right for you. We are here to facilitate the arrangement and provide ongoing support to you throughout your match.

We understand that every match and every individual we work with are different. We endeavour to understand your needs and find the right person to move into your home.

What does it cost?

The Householder and Homesharer both pay a monthly fee to Homeshare North East. The fees cover the cost of the recruitment process, checks, facilitation of the match, monthly reviews and ongoing support throughout the match. These fees support the running of Homeshare North East, helping more people to benefit from Homeshare.

Householders pay a monthly fee of £80 which equates to around £2.60 per day. In comparison to the cost of cleaners, gardeners and overnight care, Homeshare is extremely cost effective. Homesharing allows you to benefit from companionship, friendship and practical support on a daily basis, in the comfort of your own home. Homesharers often contribute fairly to household bills, this is something we discuss on an individual basis.
