What does it cost?
Both the Householder and Homesharer contribute a monthly fee which covers the cost of:
Recruitment and thorough background checks
Carefully matching Householders and Homesharers
Monthly reviews and ongoing support throughout the match
Helping more people benefit from Homeshare across the region
Householders pay a monthly fee of £80—which works out around £2.60 per day. Compared to the cost of hiring separate cleaners, gardeners, or overnight carers, Homeshare is a highly cost-effective alternative.

Homesharers often contribute fairly towards utility costs—this is something we discuss on an individual basis to ensure a fair arrangement for both parties.
How does Homeshare work?
Step 1. Contact us for an initial conversation about how Homeshare North East could work for you or your loved one. Let us find out a little more about you or your loved one and how Homeshare could benefit you or them.
Step 2. If you feel Homeshare is the right option for you or your loved one, we will arrange a face to face visit to discuss further. We can explore what you hope to gain from Homesharing and how you envisage the arrangement working. If you or your loved one has existing support in place, we can discuss how this can be complimented. We're here to answer any questions you may have. Rest assured, we have a very thorough vetting process. We conduct checks on anyone that would like to Homeshare with you through an Enhanced DBS check, references and finance checks to ensure the utmost safety.
Step 3. We spend time finding the perfect Homeshare match for you. We identify one, or more, suitable and carefully vetted (including Enhanced DBS vetting) Homesharers and with us there to support you, we will introduce you to the Homesharer. If you are happy to proceed with the Homesharer we have found, we will support you in making decisions about the support you need and the finer details of the Homeshare agreement, ensuring everyone's needs and expectations are addressed.
Step 4. Collectively, we will select a date to begin your Homeshare journey. Initially, this begins with a 4 week trial period. Homeshare North East will continue to provide ongoing support with regular, in person visits to your home and phone calls.
Step 5. At the end of the four week trial period, we arrange a face to face meeting to ensure both parties would like the Homeshare arrangement to continue, making any amendments to the Homeshare agreement if necessary.
