About us

Sharing homes, enriching lives

We believe in the power of connection and community.

Our mission is to enrich lives through shared living arrangements that bring companionship, security, and mutual support to older adults and individuals seeking affordable housing.

We know how important remaining at home, living as independently as possible is to older people. Homesharing is one of the most affordable and secure ways for our ageing population to continue living independently at home. Homesharing enables independence and helps to alleviate concerns for older people and their families, as well as those seeking safe, affordable housing.

We connect people with spare rooms, who are looking for companionship and practical help around the home, (our Householders) with individuals who need affordable accommodation and can offer their time, friendship, and assistance with daily tasks (Homesharers). This unique arrangement not only addresses the challenges of loneliness and isolation often faced by older people but also provides a safe and supportive environment where everyone benefits.

Our approach is based on trust, respect, and mutual benefit. We carefully match Householders and Homesharers to ensure compatibility and shared interests, fostering genuine friendships and creating a sense of community within the home. Throughout the arrangement, our team provides ongoing support and monitoring, ensuring that both parties are happy and that the Homeshare experience remains positive and fulfilling.

Homeshare North East is more than just a housing solution; it’s a way to create meaningful connections, share experiences, and build a community where everyone feels valued and supported. Whether you’re an older adult looking for companionship and a helping hand, or someone in search of affordable housing with a purpose, Homeshare North East offers a unique opportunity to live and thrive together.
