What is Homeshare?
Homeshare is a simple yet powerful arrangement. We match an older person (the Householder) who has a spare room and could use some companionship and practical help, with a carefully vetted individual (the Homesharer) who needs affordable housing and is willing to give time and support in return.
The Homesharer provides agreed, low level practical support which might include:
Cooking or sharing meals
Light cleaning or laundry
Shopping trips
Helping with technology
Companionship, conversation, and reassurance
How We Keep Everyone Safe
We know that trust is everything when inviting someone into your home, especially for your loved one. That’s why our process includes:
Enhanced DBS checks
Reference checks
Home visits and safety assessments
Careful matching based on personality, lifestyle, and interests
Ongoing support throughout the match
Why Families Choose Homeshare
Families tell us the greatest benefit isn’t just the practical help, it’s the peace of mind. Knowing someone is there overnight, sharing a meal, or simply chatting over a cup of tea can make all the difference to both the Householder and their loved ones.
If you think a family member could benefit, we’d love to have a no-pressure chat to explore if Homeshare is right for them.
